Los Angeles is now celebrating another season of fashion which started with the opening of Style Fashion Week that took place March 9th – 12th at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood.
On March 9th all guests and press had an opportunity to enjoy Taiwanese-born American fashion designer Malan Breton’s spectacular FW17 runway show that opened Style Fashion Week. Malan’s collection was inspired by the glamour of the 1930s. Malan’s presentation “The 7 Deadly Sins” was all about glitter and elegance of “Hollywood’s uncensored pre-code film noir era”.
The next day was marked by fashion shows of great designers like Mario De LA Torre and David Tupaz.
“My company is Bijan Andre Atelier and I was inspired by floral, lace and sequins”, – said Bijan about his new collection.
We also talked to painter Elise Rise who graduated from Princeton Art School. She’s been working a lot all this time. “I’ve always been a painter since I was a child. It’s a drive”, – she admitted. She presented her art installation at Style Fashion Week this past week. “It started out as my senior thesis in art school”, – she said. “It’s really about how to make images and how to be a contemporary artist, and those two questions I was definitely asking myself”.
“We love Style Fashion Week. We come every year. Pol Atteu opened Style Fashion Week and the charity shows a couple years in a row, so we come back and support it”, – said Patrik Simpson about celebrity designer Pol Atteu. Pol did several shows including Doubt and To Tell The Truth. Also, he and Patrik “opened up the store to a bunch of new brands that are able to come in and showcase their merchandise at our Beverly Hills Rodeo Drive boutique”, – said Pol.
