Beverly Hills And The Iconic Rodeo Drive Go BOLD For The Second Annual Holiday Season

Get ready for the holidays with #BOLDBH events and a spectacular Holiday Lighting Celebration

The second annual BOLD Holidays campaign kicked off on November 15 from 5:00 – 8:30 p.m. with the highly anticipated Rodeo Drive Holiday Lighting Celebration. This multigenerational event was free of charge and brought to public by the Rodeo Drive Committee in partnership with the City of Beverly Hills, Beverly Hills Conference & Visitors Bureau and Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce. The event was hosted by TV and social media personality Dawn McCoy. The festivities included live music from electro hip hop violinist and America’s Got Talent contestant, Svet, and a specially curated 20-piece #BOLDBH band which will be playing a mix of holiday classics and decades hits. The event also included a dramatic unveiling of the lighting and décor featuring a newly revealed holiday social art installation as well as the debut of artist Alexa Meade’s solo exhibition at 262 North Rodeo Drive which will be open to the public daily (closed Thanksgiving Day) until December 23.

During the event The American Red Cross received a donation in amount of $126.750.00.

It was fun for everyone: kids and parents enjoyed food from food trucks, live music and new décor.

The BOLD Holidays celebrations will continue every Friday and Saturday evening between 5 p.m. -8 p.m., from November 16 – December 22 on the 200, 300 and 400 blocks of Rodeo Drive as well as throughout the city. The streets will come alive once again with experiential programming, beautiful lights and holiday cheer. Guests can enjoy later shopping hours from their favorite merchants while experiencing unforgettable holiday moments featuring larger than life #BOLDBH California snowballs, a live ice sculpting experience, an interactive peace wall, elegant ballerinas performing on top of grand pianos, contortionist fashion art coming to life on the street and much more!

Following her interactive BOLD Summer installations, Alexa Meade will transform the space on Rodeo Drive into a three-dimensional art installation that will appear to be two-dimensional when photographed. Visitors stepping into an immersive art exhibition will become part of the artwork as they don hand painted clothing and accessories. Meade, who has appeared around the globe creating special installations and most recently painted music superstar Ariana Grande in her latest music video, “God is a Woman,” will paint live models at the exhibition to augment the experience on November 15, November 30, and December 14.

BOLD Holidays will also feature the West Coast debut of QuinCoach’s motorcycle coaches on December 14, 15, 21 and 22 (one featuring 50,000 sparkling crystals), the return of BOLD rides throughout Beverly Hills’ in exotic and luxury cars provided by Midway Car Rental; live holiday music in Beverly Canon Gardens and holiday art walks lead by curatorial professionals.

Child Help Charity Holds Hollywood Heroes Night in Beverly Hills

It’s the season of giving and this year Child Help held an amazing fundraising event at the Sofitel Hotel in Beverly Hills filled with stars from music, TV, and film. The night celebrated Hollywood heroes with special performances by Laura Marano and Jake Miller. Other stars turned out for the red carpet including Tom Schwartz of VanderPump Rules, Chelsea Kane of Baby Daddy, Ava Cantrell of Young Sheldon and many more!

Hollywood glam magazine got an exclusive interview with Laura Marano where she spilled about all her latest projects and her brand new single Me which came out on October 5^th. She performed the song live for the first time to the lucky audience members at the intimate event. The crowd loved the performance and it really kicked off the night. Laura talked about her single on the red carpet saying, “When I heard about this event and child help I was like yes, yes yes. I love kids and I just don’t think any child deserves to have less than an extraordinary life and unfortunately around the world that’s not true. I read the scariest statistic that a child gets abused every 10 seconds that’s nuts that’s insane and that shouldn’t happen so I’m really excited to be here tonight. I’m performing my new single which I just released independently which is amazing and nuts and terrifying and exciting. I have just been so excited about the reaction and recently hit 1 million views on Youtube which was a huge milestone for me coming as an independent artist. I have more music coming out and we just filmed the new music video for my next single yesterday! Man what day is it?!”

The busy star never stops and also shared more details of her upcoming projects saying, “I also have three movies coming out next year. I produced a movie and my mom and my sister and I starred in it and that’s coming out summer 2019!”

She also gave the deets on her amazing look to Hollywood Glam. The singer had on a long slim fitting black dress that gave off a sort of old Hollywood glam crossed with Edith Piaf style and was the perfect look for the Hollywood heroes themed night. She said, “I’m wearing Rachel Zoe and she’s actually one of the sponsors of the event and I’m wearing YSL jewelry.”

The fundraiser was successful and ChildHelp met their goal of raising $5,000 to donate to their children’s village for victims of domestic abuse and neglect.

The event closed with a performance by up and coming star Jake Miller who performed several of his most popular hits for the crowd.

He told the audience, “I wrote all the beats myself and spent all of 2017 learning how to do everything myself. My advice to everyone is to always act like the CEO of whatever you’re doing.”

The event was definitely a success and everyone had a great time helping such a great cause.

Marcello Fonte: From Cannes To Hollywood, Italy’s Battle For Oscar Began

It wasn’t a long time ago when extremely talented Italian actor Marcello Fonte won Cannes’ Best Actor Award for his role in the movie Dogman (director: Matteo Garrone). It was great to see him on the red carpet during the Opening Night of the Cinema Italian Style Film Festival, the part of AFI FEST 2018 presented by Audi and the American Cinematheque. The red carpet event was followed by the screening of Dogman.

Marcello portrays a dog groomer who makes extra money as a cocaine dealer. He gets into trouble with his so-called friend Simone, a violent boxer who threatens the whole community. The movie makes us to think about life, human rights, morals and modern society. There are no heroes in the film: harmless Marcello sells drugs, Simone threatens everyone but loves his mother, and only people from their neighborhood seem to be nice…. but one day the whole community starts ignoring Marcello even when Simone beats him up. At the end of the film we see Marcello is the one who defeats Simone and brings violence to an end. Dogman reminds us of the story about David and Goliath.

In the movie each character lives according to his or her own morals that might be different from norms established by society but there are heroes like Marcello who save lives and people like Simone who take lives. And then we see modern society that fails to protect its members.

Dogman will be presenting Italy in the category of the best foreign-language film during the Oscars 2019 season.

Other red carpet attendees included Consul General Antonio Verde, director and actress Annabelle Attanasio who received Cinecitta Key Award, Elvis Presley’s former wife Priscilla Presley, actress and filmmaker Valeria Golino who received Cinecitta Key Award for Achievement In Media, songwriter Teddy Geiger, and others.

There are many great movies to watch during the festival including Boys Cry (directors Damiano and Fabio D’ Innocenzo), The Stolen Caravaggio (director Roberto Ando), Naples In Veils (director Ferzan Ozpetek), There Is No Place Like Home (director Gabriele Muccino), Euphoria (director Valeria Golino), and many others.

This year Newport Beach Film Festival and Variety hosted their First Annual Fall Honors event to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Variety’s 10 Actors to Watch and the festival’s 20th anniversary. The festival will take place on April 25th – May 2nd, 2019.

During the event famous actor Robert Forster (What They Had) received the ICON Award, and Colman Domingo (If Beale Street Could Talk), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (All About Nina), and Topher Grace (BlacKkKlansman) were presented with the Artist of Distinction Awards. Eco-Conscious Contemporary Clothing Line Dame Launches In Beverly Hills

On November 7^th fashionistas, media and celebrities attended a new clothing line DAME launch party that took place in a private residence in Beverly Hills, CA. Celebrities like Malin Akerman, Maya Rudolph, Constance Zimmer and Amy Smart came to support the founders, Alexx Monkarsh, Molly Levin and Wells Butler.

The night was held at an intimate location with close friends and family. Maya, Malin and Amy were dressed from head to toe in Dame for the launch celebration.

Dame’s collection is comprised of both vintage and hand-crafted, cut and sewn pieces manufactured in downtown Los Angeles with fair wage policies. As Alexx Monkarsh explained to HGM, they created this line to be able to build a customer’s wardrobe. Their first drop is called Back To Basics and it’s all about creating a perfect blend of cozy and chick clothes one can wear to an office or for dinner. HGM talked to beautiful Swedish-Canadian actress Malin Akerman who was wearing Dame that night. “Molly (Molly Levin – LK) is my stylist in real life I am very proud of, Alexx (Alexx Monkarsh – LK) is like a sister to me, I’ve been a part of the environmental media association for the past ten years, so the environment is the big issue for me and wherever we can, let’s try to be consciousness. It’s really exciting that we can make clothes that are beautiful and lovely, and there is no reason why we shouldn’t do something that’s recycling and eco-friendly, and this is just a prefect example”, – said the actress about the clothing line.

We also talked about her career. “I am on the fourth Season of the show called Billions on the Showtime and just finished producing and starring in a film that a friend of mine wrote that we are trying to sell now. That’s exciting! Actually, just finished the film in Sweden this summmer, it is a musical, so we were singing and dancing, and it was so much fun to do! The first film ever I’ve got in Swedish. Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation Celebrates Its 30th Anniversary With Annual A Time For Heroes Family Festival

October 28, 2018 – LOS ANGELES, CA – The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) hosted its annual A Time for Heroes family festival on Sunday, October 28^th at Smashbox Studios in Culver City. A Time for Heroes raises critical funds needed to end AIDS in children. Since its inception in 1990, the event has raised more than 35 million dollars toward its goal ofcreating a world where no child has AIDS. Celebrity guests and supporters enjoyed delicious food from top local eateries, games for all ages, and high-energy entertainment.

The festivities kicked off at noon and included a day of fun for both celebrity attendees and Angeleno families alike. Guests enjoyed carnival activities such as hula hooping, life-sized jenga, a virtual reality booth, painting, DIY cookie decorating, and more. The day was capped off with an upbeat performance by HIV-positive Danish singer, Thomas Muchimba Buttenschøn.

Jake Glaser, son of founder Elizabeth Glaser, reflected on the changing face of the HIV/AIDS epidemic and noted proudly that he and his fellow EGPAF Ambassadors are living full and healthy lives that would not have seemed possible when the Foundation was launched 30 years ago. EGPAF Ambassador Josephine Nabukenya also took the stage to share her personal story, along with Chip Lyons, President and CEO of the non-profit organization. In addition to recognizing EGPAF’s 30^th anniversary year, the festival honored Willow Bay, former EGPAF Board Co-Chair and champion for children and families affected by HIV/AIDS. Following her recognition at the event, Willow Bay reminded the audience that the battle against pediatric HIV is not over: “As I thank all of you for this work, please remember that now is not the moment to let up, when over 400 babies around the world contract HIV each day. We have the technology, we have the medicine, and we have a will and a way to finish this very important mission,” she concluded

Notable celebrity attendees included Olivia Munn, Ariel Winter, Gilles Marini, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Perez Hilton, and Sara and Erin Foster amongst others.

EGPAF supports over 1 million people worldwide, including nearly 70,000 children, on life-saving medications. Operating at over 5,000 sites in 19 countries around the world, EGPAF has reached more than 27 million pregnant women with services to block transmission of HIV to their babies. This work has prevented over 300,000 pediatric HIV infections since 2004.
