Ashley Tisdale presentation at BeautyCon LA

The actress and now, beauty guru and founder of Illuminate by Ashley, showed up to the pink carpet of BeautyCon LA on Saturday August 12 for some fun times and of course, make-up! Ashley made a special guest appearance at her Illuminate by Ashley booth on Saturday afternoon where tons of make-up fans were waiting to meet her. She gave the intimate crowd a special treat and asked the audience what kind of a make-up tutorial they wanted to see celebrity make-up artist Tonya create. After deciding Ashley told the crowd, “All right I’ll take off my eyes!”

While Tonya worked on creating the perfect winged look for Ashley, the actress told stories to the crowd and asked them about their favorite Illuminate products. She shared that she loved to get all her make-up tricks from Youtube and talked about the latest beauty trends she’s been loving, including the Sunset Eye. Tonya is another one of Ashley’s favorite people to get tips from and she recounted an adventure they’d had while hanging out on the beach one Saturday to the crowd saying, “I crash parties all the time.” According to the actress, after deciding to head down to the beach she had spotted some tents on the sand and they decided to go check them out. However, when they got there not many people were around so they stayed around for a few minutes. Soon though people started to come back to the tents and that’s when they realized that there was a birthday party going on. Ashley said that once they realized they walked into the middle of a 14 year old’s birthday party everybody laughed and kids were, “really excited.”

After finishing the make-up tutorial, she showed off her new look taking selfies with her fans. Check out the video below to see Ashley getting her eyes done.

CHAZ DEAN AND HIS ANGELS PUT BEST PAW FORWARD FOR DEBUT OF PROJECT ANGEL FOOD VAN

0

Project Angel Food is at it again, winning over the hearts of Californians with their latest sponsor, celebrity hairstylist Chaz Dean and his four labs Hunter and Spencer (born 3/2/08) and Bella and Riley (born 8/16/13).

Showing up for a surprise visit at Chaz’s West Hollywood Salon, the Chaz Dean Studio, was one of the first stops for the Project Angel Food sponsored van. Prominently featuring Chaz with his four Angels, the Ford Transit Van is driven by Tim Troester, a full-time driver for the cause for the past four years and also the lead singer of the country band The Groovy Rednecks. The van has been driven 15,000 miles a year on routes that cover Downtown to Mid-City and South LA to Long Beach. Chaz’s van is used to deliver 2,200 meals a week to 225 people living with critical illness.

In addition to being an enormously successful Celebrity Hairstylist and creator of WEN Hair & Body Care,
Chaz Dean is a generous philanthropist who is heavily involved in the LGBTQ community.  He is also the Presenting Sponsor for this years’ Angel Awards, the spectacular Annual Gala for Project Angel Food, on Saturday, August 19. Chaz’s busy schedule doesn’t always allow him to take as much time as he’d like to volunteer, so he donates to the causes that mean the most to him, the ones that provide day to day needs required to survive. Chaz said, “Most of us take for granted that we can quickly prepare a snack, breakfast, lunch, or dinner when we feel hungry. I can imagine asking for help is difficult, which is why Project Angel Food is so important. Many of the people Project Angel Food delivers to do not interact with anyone all day and the only people they see are the drivers. They form a friendship with them.  The staff and volunteers play a major role in the mission as well. Not only do they prepare and pack all of the food, they also deliver to men, women and children who are in need, and form a personal connection with them that is everlasting.”

Chaz and his Angels are honored to be a part of the cause. He refers to his dogs as his Angels because they are not only pets, they are family and a vital role in his life, and the lives of his salon staff, clients and on QVC as well. People come from all over the world to visit the Chaz Dean Studio and the first question is “Where are the Angels?” When the opportunity arose to sponsor a van for Project Angel Food, he didn’t hesitate to step up. It was a perfect match. Discovering that his picture would appear on the back of the vehicle, Chaz wanted his Angels aligned with Project Angel Food too, hoping the image would put a smile on the faces of everyone who encounters it.

Chaz Dean Studio is located in the heart of West Hollywood and has a dedicated celebrity clientele including Brooke Shields, Angie Harmon, Rochelle Aytes, Ming-Na, Nicollette Sheridan and more. Although his primary focus is hair, Chaz is a skilled photographer with a studio above the salon. He has a genuine passion for helping others and is regularly involved with charitable events.

About Chaz Dean
A true pioneer in the hair care industry, WEN Hair & Body Care by Chaz Dean first debuted in November 2000 as a long-awaited, natural solution to a crowded marketplace of harmful and toxic options. Founded by celebrity hairstylist Chaz Dean, who set out to replace lather with a simple alternative. Enter the WEN Cleansing Conditioners, a 6-in-1 bottle replacement for shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioner, detangler, leave-in conditioner and shave cream. Designed to reverse shampoo’s drying, stripping, brittle, broken and overall damaging effects to the hair. Every product in the now vast WEN portfolio, spanning styling products, body care, fragrance, kids, mens and pet care, reflects Chaz’s philosophy that respecting the health and integrity of the body, from head to toe, is the foundation of true beauty. The products are made without the use of harsh detergents, chemicals, surfactants or sulfates, often found in ordinary shampoos, which combat the hair and strip it of its natural oils. Instead, each formulation contains a perfect blend of ingredients, including botanicals, oils and extracts that hydrate and cleanse, leaving hair looking and feeling healthy. Take it from over 40 million products sold, and worldwide universal results of newfound strength, moisture and manageability.

About Project Angel Food
Project Angel Food has served the community tirelessly for twenty-eight years, providing more than
10.5 million meals to men and women living with critical illness. The kitchen, staff and volunteers prepare over 11,000 meals a week, free of charge, and medically tailored to the requirements of people living with  HIV/AIDS, cancer, kidney disease, congestive heart failure and diabetes.  The mission is one of love, to feed and nourish the sick as they fight their battle.  Many of the clients are living well below the poverty line and Project Angel Food is the lifeline, filling a vital need in all communities.  The client base is testimony to this fact, 40% Latino, 30% African-American, 21% Caucasian, 5% Asian and
4% multiracial

Audrina Patridge Swim Collection

On Saturday July 15, the Simply LA fashion and beauty conference kicked off on the rooftop of The Grove shopping center in Beverly Hills. The fun filled day included celebrity guest appearances, panels, and free hair and make-up samples from the up and coming brands exhibiting at the event. For many guests seeing some of their favorite brands and discovering new products was the highlight of the event. One of the brands exhibiting was Prey Swim, created by reality star and model Audrina Partridge, who attended the event as a panelist and exhibitor for her new line. The actress was so excited to share in an interview about her experience designing the line.

According to Audrina the process has given her a new respect for the fashion industry and her line focuses on customizable pieces for her customers. She takes some of her inspiration from the type of swimwear that she would’ve liked as a teen and has created swim sets that girls can mix and match in different sizes according to their body type. She also had some reversible pieces in her collection as well to give customers even more options for colors and patterns.

This season’s collection was all about high waisted pieces and fun prints for customers to create their own look.

Audrina talked about her favorite trends of the summer saying, “I love all the high waisted, I love that all the 90s grunge with the 70s are in and that people are mixing the two eras and creating their own style.”

And for the SoCal native, the trends from the beaches of LA were another big hit for her summer style inspiration.

She said, “One-piece bikinis are trending, they’re huge! One piece and high waisted, especially with Baywatch, like I’ve been seeing a lot of red bikinis and yellow. And all the 80s high cut bikinis are back in…you know, it’s a circle.”

The actress was getting in on the revival and, wearing a red patterned jumper, told me about her own style saying, “My mom sees how I dress and says you look like I did when I was in my 20s!”

She also talked about beauty saying, “I love that all the natural make-up is coming back and all the natural hair because it’s just natural beauty and, it’s so much easier to get ready!”

And saving time and energy is always on her mind since she’s been working on her line and keeping up with the fast pace of the fashion industry. She told me, “I feel like in the fashion industry you never really get a chance to have a break it’s like non- stop. You always have to be ahead of the trends or create the trends.”

But the hard work has paid off for Audrina, who talked about her upcoming plans saying, “It’s fun. We’re showing at Miami Swim Week next Friday so we’ve been working on showing our two collections, casting models and just preparing for it. And then, after that we’re working on spring and summer.”

Simply Event

On Saturday July 15 the Simply fashion and beauty conference kicked off at the Grove in Beverly Hills. The conference was filled with celebrities and digital influencers who along with all the stylish consumers had come to check out the fun and cool new brands showcasing at the event. Actress Ashley Greene started the day off by welcoming guests to the fun filled networking conference. Throughout the day more celebrities and bloggers showed up to speak on panels and give their tips to success as well as fashion and beauty hacks from the experts! Actress Audrina Patridge came to talk about her new swim line called Prey Swim and said, “We’re showing at Miami swim week and then preparing for spring and summer” Her new line was one of the booths at the showcase and guests loved checking out the high waisted fun and flirty styles. According to Audrina she has a new appreciation for the fashion industry after going through the design process. She put a lot of thought into her designs taking inspiration from what she would’ve wanted as a teen. She has included tops and bottoms in different sizes so girls can mix and match to find the right combination as well as different styles such as high waisted and reversible bikinis.

Other popular panelists included Toni Ko, the founder of NYX cosmetics, who showcased her new sunglass line called Perverse eyewear at the event and spoke on the Panel titled “Building your business from the ground up” with fellow businesswoman and blogger Sazan Hendrix. Hendrix is the founder of Blessbox, a subscription based product that she described as, “my blog in a box”. The lifestyle blogger showed up looking stylish and her booth was a big hit with guests who enjoyed checking out the latest products she was featuring.

The colorful conference continued with flower crowns and ice cream samples on the hot summer day and guests could be spotted posing for one of the Instagram photo ops or relaxing with a snack from vendors like Smashmallow or Coolhaus Ice Cream on the couches placed around the rooftop.

The panels continued with advice from industry experts such as Becca Tilley, a fashion blogger and TV personality, as well as actresses Vanessa Simmons, Monique Coleman, and Logan Browning.

Monique Coleman enjoyed her time at the event saying, “I’m having a blast so far! It’s incredible…it’s wonderful to see people that are bloggers in the beauty and fashion industry and actors and musicians come together to support one another in a kind way. I think often times it feels very competitive like people are just trying to get out ahead and the Simply LA event is really about people learning form one another.”

Everybody enjoyed checking out the new products and getting pampered at the different booths such as the Beglammed booth which offered makeup touch ups for the hot day. The Beglammed app described themselves as the “Uber for hair and make-up”

All in all the day was a success and the Simply founder Sarah Boyd was excited for future events and conferences.
