BURBANK, Calif. — The Burbank International Film Festival is pleased to announce
the 2016 program including numerous world premieres, and a record-breaking 750
submissions from independent filmmakers representing more than 31 countries. Now in
its 8th year, the Burbank International Film Festival will increase the number of screenings to more than 150 films at the Burbank AMC 16 in Downtown Burbank from Wednesday, September 7th, through Sunday, September 11th, 2016.
Burbank International Film Festival’s five-day celebration of independent film brings
together emerging international talent, film enthusiasts, and industry leaders to
experience the best in contemporary film in Burbank, the Media Capital of the World.
“The Burbank International Film Festival has grown in leaps and bounds, and now in our
8th year, we’re breaking every previous record we’ve set,” states Jeff Rector, President
and Festival Director. “We are also excited to have expanded our international presence
by partnering with festivals from leading filmmaking countries such as China, India,
Norway, and Australia.”

HISTORY OF CINEMA
The festival is proud to announce special screenings as part of the festival’s “History of
Cinema” program, which will introduce classic studio films, inspiring young audiences to
develop a deeper appreciation for the art of filmmaking. Special screenings include:

Cast members set to appear include Michael Biehn (Terminator), Jenette Goldstein

After-Party as part of “Night of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror.” The Sci-fi After-Party

“Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory” stars Gene Wilder, Jack Albertson, and Peter
Ostrum and tells the story of Charlie, a kid from a poor family whose luck changes when
he wins a golden ticket to a magical candy factory. Participants who arrive dressed as a
character from the film will receive free admission. There will be a prize for best
costume, and one lucky attendee will win a “golden ticket.” There will also be a special

(Jaws), with special awards including Diversity, Awareness, and The President’s

This season, International producer Style Fashion Week will be moving their shows to the Manhattan Center on September 8th,9th and 10th during New York Fashion Week. The famed rapper’s girlfriend Shantel Jackson was a victim and survivor of domestic abuse, and Nelly himself was exposed to domestic violence as a child. “I have daughters and I wouldn’t want them to go through this. I hope I have raised both my sons and daughters to know how to treat people of the opposite sex, and know what healthy relationships look like. It’s up to my generation and the ones that follow, to take a stand against domestic violence and inspire change.”

The Seventh Annual Gala, “Havana Nights” will take place at beautiful Vibiana, in Historic Downtown L.A., where it will raise funds with a goal of $500,000 to support new patient costs and aftercare expenses for 2017.  The evening will feature Cuban infused cuisine by Bravo’s Top Chef Master and Iron Chef, Neal Fraser, Latin inspired music, dance and décor.

Domestic violence is a serious issue affecting 1 in 4 women and more than 4 million women in the US alone. The night will focus on celebrating survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking, raising money via donations, and live & silent auctions. The powerhouse-packed event will feature a stunning cocktail reception, complete with entertainment from the moment guests step out of their cars, a seated dinner, silent & live auctions, dancers and live musical performances, and “Havana Nights” inspired ambiance. Following the dinner will be the awards ceremony honoring individuals that have made a significant difference in this arena.

La Jolla International Fashion Film Festival Becomes The Cannes of Fashion Film

In July of this year La Jolla became the center of fashion and cinema celebration. Actors, fashion designers, and producers joined La Jolla International Fashion Film Festival to celebrate fashion in film and pick up the winners.

Established in 2013, La Jolla International Fashion Film Festival is the First International Fashion Film Festival Founded in North America. It is also the World’s largest gathering of fashion filmmakers and the global marketplace for fashion film.

Its mission is to empower, support, and recognize the individual creative professionals who make up the Fashion Film Community worldwide.

Known as the Cannes of fashion film, The La Jolla International Fashion Film Festival supports the market maker for distribution deals, director representation, and fashion film production houses.
