August 25th, W hotel, Hollywood

This summer might be over but the biggest fashion and beauty events are now taking place everywhere in LA.

On August 25th media, celebs, designers, models and beauty lovers showed up at the legendary W hotel located right in the center of Hollywood. The guests joined famous Fashion Icon and Entrepreneur Lilly Ghalichi. Lilly is well known for her online shopping website WantMylook https://www.wantmylook.com/, that provides affordable celebrity looks for less; her own line of eyelashes, Lilly Lashes, and an exclusive line of hair extensions called Lilly Hair.

Lilly is a Beauty Queen who inspires girls around the world to look fabulous for less. Texas Born, she moved to LA several years ago and became a true star and symbol of Hollywood Glam lifestyle. HGM talked to her to learn more about Lilly’s signature style:

HGM: What should we know about tonight party?

LG: It’s a nice party, it’s time to let your hair down and celebrate the last few days of summer.

HGM: How would you explain your success?

LG: It’s a lot of hard work. Success doesn’t come easy but if you want something bad enough, you work hard enough to get it.

HGM.: How did you come up with the idea to promote your signature look and Lilly Lashes?

LG.: It was pretty much necessity for myself. I love fashion, I love makeup, I create things that I love and I hope people love them too.

HGM.: How would you describe your signature look in three words?

LG.: Over The Top (laughs)

HGM.: What’s next for you?

LG.: Not to work so hard. Slow down, get married, have kids.

During the night guests were taking pictures on the red carpet and sipping cocktails while enjoying breathtaking rooftop view.

“I am here to support my beautiful friend Lilly Ghalichi”, – said celebrity designer Walter Mendez about the event. He revealed some details about his upcoming fashion shows: “We are definitely getting ready for the next season: New York, LA, multiple shows around the world. I am very excited to launch a new collection”.

Novo LA, Los Angeles, August 20, 2016

By Lana Krapivina

On August 20 NYX Professional Makeup celebrated The Fine Artistry of Cosmetic Elites (FACE)  Awards as it named Laura Sanchez the “Beauty Vlogger of the Year” at the Novo, Los Angeles. The ceremony, hosted by YouTube star Kandee Johnson, featured performances by Beyoncé’s proteges Chloe X Halle and RuPaul’s Drag Race star Alyssa Edwards. The show was streamed live at nyxfaceawards.com and on the official NYX YouTube channel.

Internationally recognized vlogger Laura Sanchez received Beauty Vlogger of the Year Award and $50,000 prize during the real-time competition that took place later that day.

In addition to winning $50,000, the “Beauty Vlogger of the Year” also received consultations with professional makeup artists, a year’s supply of NYX Cosmetics, and the opportunity to kick-start a professional career in makeup artistry. The five runner-ups Alexa Poletti, Brianna Fox, Haley Wight, Pompberry and Kristi (RawBeautyKristi) each received $15,000.

The finalists revealed their challenge videos before a live audience and panel of top beauty industry judges, including Academy-Award winning professional makeup artist Ve Neill; Editor-in-chief of NYLON, Melissa Giannini; Beauty Director of Refinery29, Megan McIntyre; and YouTube sensation, Ingrid Nilsen. Somehow here I am today! I love to wear red lipstick, neutrals and black. My advice to all makeup artists is to do something you are not good at every day. The more you do something you are not good at, eventually it will become second nature, and it won’t be a challenge for you anymore”, – she advised all inspiring makeup artists.

“It takes a lot of practice to have a perfect makeup,” –revealed famous beauty influencer Patrick Starr. “My favorite part about NYX Cosmetics is that it brings millions of people together. It brings a passion for makeup in one room, in one competition, and it is all about unity, diversity and, of course, about makeup”, – said Patrick about the show.

Copenhagen Fashion Week Kicks Off With High Expectations

0

Copenhagen, Denmark

August 10, 2016

Copenhagen Fashion Week kicks off today with optimism throughout the industry and a strong lineup featuring well-known international brands.

It is a fashion industry with high expectations that is gathered these days in Copenhagen for the SS17 Season of Copenhagen Fashion Week. A general optimism characterizes the industry and is rooted in the previous year’s growth numbers.
International media zooms in on fashion week
True to tradition Copenhagen Fashion Week has flown in international press to cover its shows and happenings. This season includes editors from several Vogue and Elle magazines but also the likes of Dazed and W Magazine will be sitting in front row. After three seasons of coverage by the American fashion site Style.com, now merged into Vogue.com, another internationally-leading fashion site is joining the pool of media covering Copenhagen Fashion Week regularly. From this SS17 season, the London-based The Business of Fashion will include shows from Copenhagen.
The SS17 show schedule
A total of 29 shows are on the SS17 schedule including three international brands. The Swedish brands, House of Dagmar and Uniforms for the Dedicated will make their debut on the Copenhagen runway while German fashion darling Lala Berlin is back with its third show season. Naturally this season will also see well-established womenswear brands showing their collections such as By Malene Birger, Ganni and Baum und Pferdgarten along with well-established menswear brands that count Han Kjøbenhavn and Asger Juel Larsen among others. An old acquaintance, Won Hundred, will also be returning to the show scene, which will also boast of four brands that focus on sustainability including Barbara I Gongini, Fonnesbech and the new Swedish show brands.
“Fashion week has a strong show schedule this season, and we are experiencing increased international interest from both brands, buyers and press right now. The latter marks a milestone in the Copenhagen Fashion Week’s history since recognition from the fashion press helps put our fashion week on the world map. My hope for the future is that the Copenhagen show scene will attract more brands with a sustainable profile. Then we would be able to take the unique position, Copenhagen already has when it comes to sustainability thanks to the big Copenhagen Fashion Summit, which was held earlier this year,” says CEO of Copenhagen Fashion Week Eva Kruse.
Dining and driving added to the service platform
Copenhagen is not only known for its strong fashion and design tradition, but also for its world famous gastronomy. A big part of experiencing fashion week is to socialize with your customers and to enjoy the city’s variety of restaurants and nightlife. Therefore, Copenhagen Fashion Week has partnered up with the trade association Danish Restaurants & Cafés and Madbillet.dk on Fashionweekdining.dk that offers fashion week guests easy and convenient dinner booking.
Copenhagen Fashion Week adds another service that substantiates the story of a sustainable city; the collaboration with the city car sharing service DriveNow enables guests to get around Copenhagen in electric cars.

“I feel really lucky and I also look at it as something I wanna live up to. I will continue growing as an artist and as a director”, – said famous actress and film director Jennifer Morrison about being honored with the 2016 HollyShorts Trailblazer Award for her new film Wild Wild Horses.

“It was wonderful. I felt really lucky because Warning Labels, my first short film, was actually shown at HollyShorts last year. It was kind of evolution from starting directing short films. The band’s manager (Wild Wild Horses band – LK) had actually seen my film and showed it to the band and they liked it. So, they came to me asking if I could picture the concept for them to have sort of four music videos we could put together that would make one film. What you are seeing tonight is one longer film that consists of four separate films. I love being a director; I feel it’s been a natural evolution in my career and in my life”, – revealed actress and film director Jennifer Morrison to HGM. Jennifer had a great collaboration with Wild Wild Horses band, her new short film received the 2016 HollyShorts Trailblazer Award presented by Women in Film.
