The annual Beautycon LA festival took place on August 10th and 11th at the LA Convention Center. The weekend festivities kicked off on Saturday with 500+ influencers and 150 of the biggest beauty and wellness brands making this the world’s biggest beauty event.
This year at Beautycon LA 2019, the main stage hosted a panel of top executives and influencers who have found success with a purpose. A must-see fireside chat moderated by Beautycon’s CEO Moj Mahdara and hosted by Illuminated, featured film producer, humanitarian, and one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world, Priyanka Chopra was one of the main events of Beautycon. Priyanka and Moj discussed the value of women supporting women and the responsibility that comes with being in the spotlight: “The economic power in this room is massive. And so, the inspiration for us was when you take active engaged consumers were a lot of people of color and minority, different ethnicities, and you provide education and optionality. I think that’s what Beautycon is really focused on is the merging between economic consumption of product and consumer goods, but the discipline of meeting and pause and leaving sort of a legacy behind that we’re not going to be disappointed with.
Of course,
Priyanka and Nick Jonas’ wedding became one of the main topics: “And It was huge, right? This was a huge
wedding. very traditional, very beautiful. But it was a ritual of ceremony that
was both Christian and Hindu. And I don’t know that the worldwide president
ever seen or heard of a ceremony with two receptions. I mean, it’s just massive, right? three days, two ceremonies
and four receptions.”
Chopra said: “Okay, If you are a South Asian or if you know someone South
Asian, you understand that. You understand that when someone gets married,
everyone in your life needs to be a part of it. Everyone from before everyone
from after.”
