Cirque du Soleil Las Vegas to Receive the 2016 Metropolitan Fashion Excellence Award – Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Warner Bros. Studios
LOS ANGELES, July 21, 2016 – METROPOLITAN FASHION WEEK (MFW), the most fashionable week in Hollywood, premieres its Metropolitan Fashion Awards honoring outstanding achievements in motion pictures, television, and live theater, it was announced today by MFW Founder Eduardo Khawam. The winners will be announced at MFW’s final event, the Closing Gala and Fashion Awards, on Saturday, October 1 at Warner Bros. Studios. The Metropolitan Fashion Awards of Excellence categories include Costume Designer of the Year (Motion Pictures), Costume Designer of the Year (TV), Costume Designer of the Year (Live Performance), Celebrity Stylist of the Year, Fashion Program of the Year, Fashion Commentator of the Year, Fashion Blogger of the Year, Outstanding Ensemble for Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists and Lifetime Achievement Award.
Metropolitan Fashion Week will be honoring Cirque du Soleil Las Vegas as the recipient of the 2016 Metropolitan Fashion Excellence Award.
Submissions for Costume Designer of the Year – TV and Costume Designer of the Year – Motion Pictures open today and can be made online at www.metropolitanfashionweek.net. The deadline for submissions is Friday, July 29, 2016 at 5:30 PM (PT). All other award categories will be nominated by the MFW Awards Committee and announced on Tuesday, August 9, 2016.
This is the inaugural year for these awards which recognizes individuals and/or teams who have made a significant impact in the haute couture fashion and the costume industry within their specific category.

As previously announced, Metropolitan Fashion Week Hollywood partners with Warner Bros. Studios to kick off its fourth annual festivities with a series of couture and costume presentations and a benefit show supporting Autism Speaks. Held September 22 – October 1, 2016 at Warner Bros. Studios and various locations throughout Los Angeles, MFW will be hosted and produced by Eduardo Khawam, fashion expert, producer and TV personality for Telemundo and Univision.
